Mike grew up in New Orleans, LA and attended Mater Dolorosa and Lusher before moving to Slidell, LA, which he considered to be his home, the summer before the 5th grade.  In Slidell, he attended Florida Avenue Elementary, Slidell Jr. High, and graduated from Slidell High School in 1973 where he had participated in Football, Track, and the Key Club.  Mike then went on to be a Ragin’ Cajun at USL in Lafayette where he graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology.  He then went on to a successful career in sales specializing in heating/refrigeration and HVAC sales achieving national salesman of the year for his company in 1994.  Mike was a big fan of the great outdoors and could usually be found spending quality time with his family and friends on camping, fishing, hunting trips, and enjoyed showing his children the world on family vacations sight seeing.  Mike had many relatives, many of whom were not related by blood, and he was an honorary member of the Fandal family which is where he learned to hunt and fish.  He loved big bear hugs, football and the Saints.  He was a very talented carpenter,/plumber/ eleclectrcian and jack-of-all trades kind of guy who enjoyed wood-working and renovating his old craftsman style home.
