Michael Kerr Obituary

Michael E. Kerr, age 57, of Somerville, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2024. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late David L. and Patricia A. (Tosi) Kerr. Michael was a passionate and devoted man who lived life to the fullest.

A lover of food and a skilled chef, Michael found immense joy in cooking. Whether it was a family gathering or a casual get-together, he always took pride in preparing delicious meals and watching others savor his creations. Outside of the kitchen, Michael’s life was filled with music—he was a true Rolling Stones fan, enjoying their iconic sounds whenever he had the chance.

Sports were another passion of Michael’s, and he was often found watching a football game with a keen eye. His loyalty to the New England Patriots was unmatched, and he could always be counted on to cheer them on with enthusiasm and pride.
Michael also had a special fondness for the beach, where he loved to relax and take in the surroundings. But above all else, his family was his greatest love. Michael’s three sons and grandchildren were the center of his world, and they brought him an immense sense of joy and pride. His devotion to them was unyielding, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
 
Beloved father of Ryan Shea-Kerr, Nicholas Shea-Kerr and Brendan Shea-Kerr. Cherished grandfather of Brady Shea-Kerr and Colin Shea-Kerr. Devoted partner of Jeanine Callinan. Loving brother of Susan Mackey and her husband Paul, Nancy DiDomenico, Robert Kerr and the late James Kerr. Dear best friend who was like a brother to him, Frank Scire. Predeceased by the mother of his loving children Janine Shea - Kerr. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. 
 
Calling Hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) on Sunday, January 26, from 2:00PM to 5:00PM. Words of remembrance will be held at 4:30PM. 
 
Relatives and friends are respectfully invite to attend. 
 
Interment will be held at a later date.
