Services for Mr. Danny Lee Ogden, age 76, of Purvis will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Central Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Purvis. Mr. Ogden passed from this life on July 19, 2025 at his residence. Bro. Danny Sauls and Matthew Ogden will officiate the service and burial will follow in Grantham Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Doug Ogden, Stephen Wright, Andrew Ogden, Greg Ogden, Logan McNeil, and Conner Ogden.
Mr. Ogden was a proud United States Army veteran where he served his country honorably in the Vietnam War. He worked for the Lamar County Beat 4 road crew, where he dedicated over 20 years of hard work before retiring. He followed in his father’s footsteps and worked as a skilled mechanic for several years and also had his own lawn mower repair business, which he operated for many years. Known for his strong work ethic, steady hands, and quiet kindness, Mr. Ogden was a man who could fix nearly anything — and often did, for friends, neighbors, and anyone in need. He will be remembered for his service, his craftsmanship, and the simple, honest way he lived his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy Ogden; and brother, Douglas Ogden.
He is survived by his sons, Mitchell Ogden of Purvis, Matthew (Jennifer) Ogden of Sumrall, and Gary (Suzanna) Ogden of Sumrall; daughter, Melissa (Mehboob) Ulhaq of Purvis; grandchildren, Sarah (Patrick) Evans, Lily Ogden, Logan (Kendra) McNeil, Luke (Allie) Maskew, Tommy Ogden, Leighann Ogden, Caitlyn Ogden, Connor (Madi) Ogden, Gabby Stringer, and Justin Ogden; great grandchildren, Liam McNeil, Lillian McNeil, Jack McNeil, Addison Stringer, Harper Maskew, Camden, and Ashton.
