Graveside services for Mr. David L. Stafford, age 92, of Hattiesburg, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Magnolia Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Hattiesburg.  Mr. Stafford passed from this life on July 21, 2025 at his residence.  Bro. Nathan Barber will officiate the service.  Serving as pallbearers will be Robert S. Saucier, Jr., Migel Williams, Al Saucier, Conner Brown, Tim Mixon, Gage Anderson, Charles Grey, and Jasper Buffkin.


Mr. Stafford was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean conflict.  He was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Grove and known for his deep commitment to faith, service, and community.  Mr. Stafford spent much of his professional life in the building supply industry, serving as building supply manager with West Building Supply and later working with Bellevue Building Supply Company. His leadership and work ethic earned the respect of colleagues and customers alike.  In addition to his professional and military service, Mr. Stafford was a member of the Moose Lodge in California, where he built lasting friendships and gave back to the community.  He will be remembered for his dedication to service, both to his country and his community. 


He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Rose Stafford; parents, Wilford and Jessie Stafford; brothers, Fred Stafford and Melvin Stafford; and sisters, Chirstene Stafford Kirkley, Lorene Stafford Poley, and Graple Stafford Jones.


He is survived by his daughters, Duana Brown of Purvis, Vickey Saucier of Livingston, TX, and Cathy Marchal of Oak Grove; grandchildren, Teri (Blake) Williamson, Sheri (Chris) Hatten, Robert (Holly) Saucier, Jr., Kimberly (Migel) Williams, Lacy Brown, Holly Saucier; and 9 great grandchildren.


The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mr. Stafford to St. Jude or Calvary Baptist Church of Oak Grove.

My late husband, Kennith Speights, probably knew David. He, too, worked at West Building Supply as Warehouse Manager and at Belvue Building Supply in Contractor Sales. I Remember him talking about Melvin Stanford.
