Nan McMinn Obituary
NanHee McMinn, 53, of Burke, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on October 19, 2025. She was a cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose kindness, strength, and love touched everyone she met.
NanHee is survived by her devoted husband, Anthony Valicenti, and their precious son, James, both of Burke, Virginia. She also leaves behind her loving mother, Carol McMinn of Wilbraham, Massachusetts; her brothers Charles (Kimberly) of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Roger (Kate) of Monson, Massachusetts; and her nephews Sean, Connor, Aidan, and Ryan. She was predeceased by her beloved father, Randall McMinn.
Born in Seoul, Korea, in 1972, NanHee came to the United States in 1977 when she was adopted by the McMinn family. She grew up in Wilbraham, Massachusetts, and graduated from Minnechaug Regional High School in 1991, followed by Mount Holyoke College in 1995.
NanHee built a successful career at the Associated Press in Washington, D.C., where she was admired for her intelligence, professionalism, and grace. Beyond her work, she was known for her warmth, sense of humor, and the love she gave so freely to her family and friends.
NanHee's beautiful spirit, compassion, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life honoring NanHee will be held at a later date in Burke, Virginia.
