Norma Wolfsheimer, Biery Matassa Obituary

Norma Lee (nee Belt) Wolfsheimer, Biery Matassa, age 87, of Bradenton Florida, formerly of Baltimore Maryland, completed her Earthly Mission and was escorted by two angels to her Heavenly mansion (John 14:2) on Monday, January 23, 2023.  Predeceased by her parents Edward and Edith Belt, only sibling, Joyce Belt- Lample and three husbands: Richard W. Wolfsheimer, Carl Biery, and Ronald M. Matassa. Son in law, Michael Quici Jr. And grandson-in-law, Kelly Poole. She was a born-again, Spirit-filled Christian and the matriarch of her family. Throughout her life she was a teacher of piano and the Bible (Sunday School and personally discipling friends), a volunteer in church, a Girl Scout and Girl Scout leader and was true to the Girl Scout motto: " Always be Prepared." She took that motto to another level of even orchestrating her own funeral and writing her own obituary (most of it). As a high school newspaper reporter, she interviewed the famous movie star Margaret O'Brien. Some of her careers were: library clerk, professional model, Executive Administrative Assistant, Realtor and District Sales Manager for Avon. She owned two sewing and one floral business, helped establish two church libraries; one in Baltimore and one at Church of the Cross in Bradenton where she was a member for many years until she was unable to physically attend church anymore due to health issues. She also graduated from the 15th Institute of Ministry at Christian retreat in Bradenton.  She was known for her legendary 25 years of birthday parties for Jesus she put together for neighbors and single or widowed women, as well as family and friends. Norma was patriotic and loved Fireworks. The real love of her life was Jesus Christ, her living and personal savior who helped and encouraged her daily. Norma was a thoughtful, generous, straightforward, forgiving, and fun-loving person who never lost her love of learning. Hardship taught her to be thrifty and strong. She had perfected the art of staying in touch and called people regularly and sent thousands of letters in her lifetime to many people. She would choose special stamps for special occasions and match her pen ink with the envelope color of each card. Norma loved cute newspaper comics and would often cut them out along with interesting articles and add them to her letters. She was an inspiration and admired by many. God's beauty was reflected in her sense of style and creativity. She was a woman of elegance and class. She is leaving behind a huge legacy for future generations.

Left to cherish her memory are her four children with her first husband, Joy Lee Quici and their four daughters: Faith Quici, April Poole, Christina Todorov (Ventz and their daughter Ciera) all of Bradenton and Ranae Hermansen (Bryan) of Virginia; Richard Edward Wolfsheimer (Jackie) and his son: Ryan (Ashley) and their daughters: Ava and Ella; Glenn W. Wolfsheimer (June) and their sons: Glenn Jr. "Bub" (Kaycee) and their children: Jaemyn, Remy and Delaney, Scott (Jen) and his children: Joseph, Kiley and Maverick; Jill Morris (Thomas) all of Maryland. Nephew, John Lample, and his two daughters: Jessyca Gibson (Lincy) and their son, Lincy Jr. "LJ" and Kymberli, all of Bradenton. Cousins Donna Lovell of South Florida and Shelly Lovell- Anderson of North Carolina. Her faithful friend and prayer warrior Sally Rebisz of New Jersey, her helpful friends Pam and Phyllis of Bradenton, and many other friends across America. Norma's beauty and style were shown through her many talents. She is responsible for researching, compiling, and distributing her family ancestry and history book to her whole family with the help of her first grandchild, Faith Quici. Her sense of humor and love of friends and family will be dearly missed. Things won't be the same without her light shining in our lives. We are solid and sure in the fact that she is now safe in the arms of Jesus and look forward to being reunited with her in heaven one day. A visitation and home going celebration will take place Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Brown and Sons Funeral Home & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West Bradenton, FL 34209. Condolences and video will be available at www.brownandsonsfunneral.com. It is her desire that any donations be made to help spread the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ through your local church or mission efforts that help spread the gospel.

We just learned today that dear Norma went to heaven this past January. Each year for countless years we have exchanged Christmas cards. When we did not receive one this year I decided to goggle her name. We knew she had been very ill from last years card.
We first met Norma back in 1999 when she did the alterations for our 3 children's uniforms while attending St Joseph's Catholic school. She did all of our alterations until she was no longer able too.
She was such a lovely snd interesting woman. We would even exchange letters periodically. She would clip articles from the paper when our children were mentioned and send them to us. I would always recognize her letters with her beautiful cursive hand writing. I am so sorry we only learned today of her passing. Our condolences to all of her family. She was one very special individual!! We were blessed to have known her kindness and love of Jesus! God Bless you. The Mike Young family

When I tried to call Norma today, I received the sound that I’ve always dreaded, that it wouldn’t go through, especially because I knew how sick she’s been for some time. I met Norma back around 1992 when she did some tailoring for me. We lived in the same apartments and became close friends. After I moved back to Ohio, we kept in touch throughout the yearsthru my cancer in 1999 and thru Ron’s, not too far after that. I received many cards, letters, pictures and newspaper articles from her, which I’m so glad that I kept. I just talked to her to wish her a Happy Birthday and wish with all my heart that I could talk to her now. But she is happy and she is free, and for that I am glad.

My mom was the most caring, loving, and generous person I know. I will miss getting her cards & cartoons in the mail and mostly miss our phone calls. She had so much knowledge and taught me so much. I love you Mommy !
