Philip Koob, 60, of Cascade, Iowa passed away on August 24, 2025, at Jones Regional Hospital in Anamosa, Iowa.
A graveside service for Philip will be held on September 5, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, in Cascade, Iowa, with Rev. Michael Schueller presiding. A Celebration of Life for Philip will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Cascade, Iowa. The Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade is assisting the family with arrangements.
Philip was born on July 23, 1965, in Monticello, Iowa, son of Joseph R. and Cecelia A. (McAllister) Koob. He was a graduate of the Monticello High School in Monticello, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Carrie Wallroff on April 22, 2006. She preceded him in death on February 9, 2019. Philip worked at Koob Garage in Monticello with his dad and brother, later went on to own a Small Engine Repair in Delhi. He ended his career working at NAPA where he was Regional Manager.
Philip was a volunteer for the Monticello and Delhi Fire Departments for a combination of 20 years, where he became a certified scuba diver to help with water rescues. He enjoyed tinkering with Hot Rods, riding his Motorcycle, playing softball and golf where he made semi-pro. He was an avid fisherman and fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Miami Dolphins, and New York Yankees.
Those left to cherish is memory are his two children, Tyler Koob, and Nikki Koob both Monticello; one grandson, Vincent Lee; one brother, Steve (Madonna) Koob of Monticello; Lifelong friend, Kris Bryant of Curtis, NE; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Cynthia Redmond; and a nephew, Matt Redmond.

I didn't get to see him much the last few years but remember good times when we were growing up and came to visit. Rest in Peace cousin
