I'm content with recalling pleasant memories of Sheren Haedge when we were neigbors at the Greenbriar Apartments. She and Rodney were a reassuring foundation for a new junior high kid who had just relocated to Corsicana from deep East Texas. My parents considered them among our best friends. Farewell sweet friend.

I am not on Facebook so I enjoyed watching the wonderful video tribute to Sheren during the service. Fran mentioned Sheren’s directing the children’s choirs in her guestbook entry. Those of you who were sitting in the congregation were enjoying listening to your children and/or grandchildren but you missed the best part. Those of us who sat in the choir got to see Sheren’s delightful expressions as she coaxed and encouraged the children as they sang. Her radiance and joy were present even during the “oops” moments. Thinking of all of you during this difficult time.

I know Sheren had many accomplishments to be proud of, but what sticks most in my mind is her role as director of the Children's Choir at
First Methodist Church Corsicana. She did an amazing job with them even though occasionally she had 'run-a-ways'. And the one she remembered the most was Blair Stroud. After all that hard work she put in , Blair didn't make it but a few steps past the back door of the sanctuary. He balked and refused to go down front to sing! Probably her one failure. But I have fabulous photos of Burke and Blair in the outfits Sheren designed for the choir.
They are objects I would grab if my house were on fire. Abe and I will miss our sweet friend. Fran Stroud

My love and prayers to you all. She was always so kind to me through the years. She was exactly as the words written about her. Laughter always a part of her day and such a beautiful smile.
