Warren Rosario Perez, 89
Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather
Warren Rosario Perez, 89, passed away on April 28, 2025, after a lengthy illness, at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Born on June 19, 1935, in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, Warren moved to New York City as a small child and grew up in various Manhattan neighborhoods including Spanish Harlem and Hell’s Kitchen. He graduated from St. Ann’s Academy in Manhattan and went on to attend Fordham University and St. Francis College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. Warren was proud of his military service and served honorably in the United States Army from 1954 to 1957. A lifelong Roman Catholic, he was a devoted parishioner of the Church of Epiphany in Brick, New Jersey and for many years was a regular at their daily Mass. In 1968, Warren met the love of his life Kathleen on a blind date in New York City. They married in 1969 and moved to the Jersey Shore after the birth of their first child. Athletic in his youth, Warren ran track and played baseball and basketball. He remained a loyal sports fan throughout his life, always ready to offer spirited advice to the New York Yankees, Giants and Knicks and later to the North Carolina Tar Heels basketball team from the comfort of his favorite recliner. His favorite sports team, however, was whatever soccer team his son Daniel was playing for. He cherished watching Daniel play soccer and never missed a game. Warren had a special affection for dogs, especially English Bulldogs. He adopted two English Bulldogs over the years—Winston and later Churchill. Both were loved deeply and extremely spoiled. He also was a man who appreciated detail, whether in his professional life as a CPA or in his hobbies. He loved building model planes, jeeps and boats and truly enjoyed reading and annotating the instruction manuals that came with purchased items. After a new purchase, he could be found reading parts of the instruction manual out loud to his half-listening family. Unknown to many, he also had an artistic side that emerged in his sketching and storytelling. When his children were young, they would beg for new episodes of his original stories featuring a guacamole who joined forces with a pair of driving gloves, a magical pair of striped socks and a very clever Bulldog to fight crime and solve mysteries on the Jersey Shore. In his later years, he delighted in watching his grandchildren grow and eating at Connie’s Restaurant.
Warren is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen of Brick, NJ, his daughter Nicole of New York, NY, his son Daniel of Seoul, South Korea and his two grandchildren Georgia and Declan.
