This morning my family was stuck on I-25 behind Mark's dad's truck with the decal reading "In Loving Memory my son Mark Adams Cofield." Our hearts go out to the Cofield family for their loss. Seeing the truck was a reminder of the extreme sacrifices our country's service members have made and continue to make, and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Cofield Family know that we recently made a small donation to Dover Fisher House Families of the Fallen in honor of Mark A. Cofield US Army Sergeant. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

I was driving to work this morning and saw a truck that had a sticker that read in memory of my son Mark Adams Cofield. The truck also had US Army stickers. I looked up the name in Google, got to this website, and read the obituary. It sounds like Mark was an incredible human being. My heart goes out to the Cofield family. Thank you for your beautiful son and for serving our great country.

To the Cofield Family,
It is hard to believe that it has been over a year since Mark left us, there at times when it still doesn't feel real to me. I had to honor and the privledge of serving with Mark in Iraq. He was one hell of a soldier and more importantly person. Seeing him every day at work and the gym always made me happy, and his sense of humor and smile was contagious. I miss Mark so much and I wish there was something I could do to alleviate your pain. I am so sorry for your loss and please know that no matter how much time has passed Mark will not be forgotten. As one soldier put it, he has truly left his "Mark."
Very Respectfully, Melissa

To the Colfield Family,
On Memorial Day weekend at Sunday Mass our church in Southern California, Corpus Christi, offered the opportunity for us to choose the name of a soldier to pray for and I drew your son's name, Mark Colfied. I just would like you to know my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time and appreciate your son's service to our country. May God bless you, your family and friends.

I knew Mark through a church group I was involved in about six years ago and hadn't had contact with him since. When I saw he had been killed on the news, I was shocked. I am so sorry for your loss. I don't know what Mark believed, but I do know that he was cheerful and fun-loving. He is not someone who will be forgotten.

Mark will be sorely missed by family, freinds and those who served with him. Mark was a young man with a beautiful smile and a heart that held the miracle of love and concern for all who met him. We who knew him were privleged to bask in the love he so willingly gave to all and will feel the loss of this wonderful young man greatly. My family feels privaleged to have known Mark and his wonderful family and share their loss. the world seems a little dimmer without Marks loving smile to light the way. Cofield Family: My prayer is that this poem I wrote will comfort you. It is: FALLEN HEROES - From the time I was conceived God had for me a plan. He wanted me to get involved to help my fellow man. I know some were against it but God knows what is best. Since the day he took me home I've had perfect rest. Heaven is so beautiful I'm walking streets of gold. Now I'm serving others including saints of old. I know some still have anger about the way I died yet God and I have seen the many tears you cry. As difficult as it may be please don't hold a grudge. Remember this my loved ones God alone will judge. Then on that resurrection day when all the dead will rise the Lord will reunite us together in the skies. Please don't be sad and mourn for me I'm doing what I love; serving God and guarding you from heaven up above.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
