Emily Misciagna AKA Augustine Larson of Colorado Springs is survived by her parents Jim and Robin Misciagna, and by her beloved daughter Piper. Emily was born and adopted in New Jersey and grew up in Colorado.
Emily marched to the beat of her own drum and courageously stood up for her beliefs, championing the underdogs and speaking up for the voiceless. She spent much of her life searching for her place in the world and in the end gave in to her continual struggles, seeking peace in death. She made a lasting impression on all who knew her and leaves a great vacuum in the lives of those who love her.
A memorial service will be held in the Stone Chapel at Woodmen Valley Chapel on June 16th at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Wells Fargo Bank – Memorial Fund for the Minor Children of Augustine Larson, or to causes Emily cared about, CSQueerCollective.org or NAMI.org.

RIP, Finn. Your story is saddening. a young man taken before his time after enduring so much pain. I hope you find peace and respect in the afterlife- it often wasnt/isn´t afforded to you enough in this life.

Jim and Robin, It is with heavy hearts that we send our deepest condolences to you for your loss. We haven't seen you and your family for several years, but we remember Emily as a very inquisitive, bright child with beautiful dark long hair and gorgeous brown eyes! You two were such loving parents to her and know this must be very difficult for you. We know you both love Jesus and pray that His peace and love will be a comfort to you in a deep way. With deepest sympathy. Gordon and Toni

I am so sorry August felt this was the only way to find happiness and peace, and I pray she found it at last. The young woman I knew was very sweet and caring. I hope Piper will grow up knowing how much her mother loved her.

You were a sister in me and Zack's heart and spirit since the day we met you, August. It was an honor and a pleasure to know you. Although we are deeply saddened by your departure, we are also glad that you finally found the peace you've sought so hard for so long to have. Know that your spirit and memory will always run with our pack, our Coyote Sister.

I knew you as many names, but through all of them, you were my friend, who stood by me, and I, you, even through the darkest of times. You are so very loved, and mournfully missed. May you have found peace, and no longer be suffering. You will be held in my heart, always. Rest well, and rise again upon greener pastures.
