Yama F. Thomas Fennick died in her home on October 9, 2017 in Colorado Springs, CO. She was 73. Ms. Fennick was born on December 20, 1943 in Bay St. Louis, MS to her parents, Irma D. Smith and Joseph H. Thomas.
Yama married the love of her life, Luther Fennick on October 3, 1964. During her life she earned a B.A. in Sociology, Masters degrees in Sociology and Public Administration and completed all but her dissertation in Vocational Rehabilitation. She dedicated her working years to social services and helping others.
Ms. Fennick was a devoted wife and a loving mother. She had a kind and generous spirit. Her passions were reading, eating good food, politics and cheering for the Broncos.
Mourning her death and celebrating her well lived life are her daughter Yolanda M. Fennick Graham (Reggie) of Colorado Springs, CO, her son Luther Fennick, Jr. (Michelle) of Houston, TX, her stepson Jerome Marion of Atlanta, GA, her brother Oren Parker of Bay St. Louis, MS, and many other extended family members and friends. Yama was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister Gloria Payne.
Memorial Service will be held at Angelus Chapel, 1104 S. Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to Silver Key Senior Services, 1625 S. Murray Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80916.
