Nancy E. Meerman (nee Eustace), age 86, a resident of Naperville, IL since May 2016, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Tabor Hills in Naperville. She was born May 10, 1931 in Chicago, IL.
Beloved wife of the late Ralph C. Meerman, whom she married August 22, 1953 and who preceded her in death on December 4, 2013; loving mother of Tom Meerman of Merlin, OR; Bruce (Suzanne) Meerman of Sycamore, IL; Susan (Gary) Ceballos of Conifer, CO; Rick (Cindy) Meerman of Naperville, IL; and the late James Meerman, adored grandmother of Kaitlin (Glen) Hamilton and the late Derek Meerman; Mitchell and Cassidy Meerman; Drew Ceballos; Nicholas, Stefanie, Natalie and Delilah Meerman, great-grandmother of Alexander Hamilton and dear friend of many. Nancy will be greatly missed by her cat, Mickey.
Nancy grew up on Chicago's South Side where her parents owned and operated a furrier business on 63'rd and Halsted Streets. She attended Parker Elementary School, Parker High School and was a graduate of Fox College in Chicago. A loving homemaker, Nancy worked as a secretary for the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) before she had children; and Marshall Field's in Oak Brook, IL after her children were raised. She was a former member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Wheaton, IL and was very involved with the Memorial Hospital Guild.
Nancy and her husband Ralph retired to Monument, CO in 1992. She was very involved with St. Peter Catholic Church, and the Tri Lakes Women's Club. She enjoyed playing bridge, book clubs, traveling, hosting dinners, and visiting museums like the Art Institute of Chicago.
Memorial Visitation Friday, November 17, 2017, 9:30 - 10:30 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Rd., Naperville, IL 60563, (630) 355-8980.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, 10:30 AM at the church.
A luncheon reception will follow at the church.
Interment: Private.
Flowers may be sent to St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
