Everette McCormick Obituary

McCormick
Everette "Skinny" Eugene McCormick
October 31, 1937 - March 31, 2018
Born to Hazel and Avril on October 31, in Centralia, Illinois. 80 great years, and oh what a life!
He was the seventh of nine children and orphaned at 12. Too young, at 17, to join the Army, he eventually moved to Palmer lake, Colorado, where he lived with his sister and worked in a greenhouse. Martin Company (Lockheed Martin) came to Colorado in 1957 and he was hired as a structural mechanic, where he participated for 40 years, in life and world changing jobs. He worked on the Cassini Spacecraft, Titan IV Payload Faring, Shuttle Manned Maneuvering Unit, Flight Support Station and US Viking I Mars Lander, just to name a few.
He met the love of his life, Sharon, and put down roots in Palmer Lake. They had three children, Howard, Cynthia and David. Together they built a house and home. They shared many adventures together; Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Cape Canaveral, Hawaii, Bahamas and Alaska. On their 50th wedding anniversary, they renewed their vows at a reception with family and friends, and went on a Mexican Riviera Cruise. They camped and fished throughout Colorado and he played on a few bowling leagues over the years. He enjoyed "his" TV remote and watching sports of any kind, but especially football and his Broncos. He loved chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy and he like ice cream and candy, after all he was a 'Halloween' baby. A life filled with ups and downs, hard work and play. With many accomplishments, he was a man of his own making and truly blessed.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, of 58 years Sharon; children, Cynthia, David (Phyllis); his sisters, Bonnie Wooldridge and Janet Hendryxs; his three grandchildren and his five great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Little Log Church in Palmer Lake, Colorado on June 9, 2018 at 11:00.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Everette's name to Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care.
