GLENN THURSTON Obituary

Thurston, (USAF, RET.)
CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT, (USAF RETIRED) GLENN G. THURSTON
April 8, 1930
August 27, 2018
Chief Master Sergeant, (USAF Retired) Glenn G. Thurston, 88, departed his earthly life on August 27, 2018, following a heart attack in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Glenn was born April 8, 1930 to H. L. and Edythe McLaughlin Thurston in Dunbar, West Virginia. Following his 1949 graduation from Dunbar High School, he joined the United States Air Force for a distinguished military career spanning almost 30 years.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Pat, of 66 years; four children: Dixie Coffin, Dean, Duane and Paul; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was baptized into Christ at Culver City, CA in the early 1950's, and served the Lord faithfully, most recently as a deacon at the Pikes Peak church of Christ. No matter how small or great the task, Glenn always sought to serve with a humble and loving spirit. The Sunday before his heart attack, Glenn welcomed everyone with one hand on a walker and the other extended in a firm handshake, accompanied by the words: "...good to see you...".
Glenn enjoyed repairing electronic devices, spending time with family, attending church services and fishing. He was an original Colorado Rockies fan who loved attending games at Coors Field.
A 2019 interment is planned for the Pikes Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs.
