REBECCA "BECKY" SUE POOLE

Becky Poole, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on January 7th 2019, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born in Muncie, Indiana to Ross and Lois Hartley.
Becky moved to Colorado in 1948 to attend the University of Colorado where she earned a B.A. Education. In 1952, she began her education career at Lowell Elementary in Colorado Springs. In 1979, she earned a M.A. in Educational Media from the University of Northern Colorado and became the Director of Library Services for the Fountain Fort Carson School District. During this time, she also served a term as President of the CEMA.
After she retired she volunteered for over 30 years as a Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Docent and was active in her church community. Becky was a world traveler with a keen love of learning and visited over 40 countries across the globe. Friends, family and community were very important to Becky.
Becky leaves behind her brother and his wife, Jim and Suellen Hartley; her children Doug and Noan Poole, Leslie Burdekin, and Sarah Seifert; and her ten grandchildren Gretchen, Ross, Kate, Patrick, Braden, Becca, Sierra, Nicole, Charles and Nina.
A Memorial Service for Becky will be held this Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 1 PM at the Broadmoor Community Church, 315 Lake Avenue.

Oh my, what a loss to all who knew her. She was always sunny, interesting to be around and a true role model for the right thing to do and say. So sorry for her loss.
