OLGA MARIE FALLER
March 9, 1935 January 14, 2019
Olga Marie Faller, our beloved sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on January 14, 2019, in Colorado Springs. She was born in Cape Town, South Africa, March 9, 1935, the first of three children born to G. August and Christine van Oordt.
Olga first emigrated to Toronto, Canada and then in 1963 settled in Colorado Springs where she raised her family. She always had a great love for the outdoors which was exemplified by her active hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing and camping trips throughout the Rocky Mountain West. By the mid-1980's, Olga had bagged all of the fourteeners in Colorado. She then went on to trek in many interesting parts of the world, including Europe, the Karakoram, South America and Africa. She particularly loved the Pikes Peak Region and the Garden of the Gods. In recent years Olga cherished her volunteer hours at the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center and leading nature tours in the Garden. She truly cherished her friends, many of whom shared her love of the outdoors, camaraderie and the occasional tasty meal with a microbrew.
Olga leaves behind her sister Christine Roberts and brother Jan vanOordt, her former husband Siegfried Faller, Jr., her four children Siegfried, Maximilian, Christina and Jan Christoph, her twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A date to celebrate Olga's life will be set soon. Should you wish, a memorial contribution may be made to the Garden of the Gods Foundation.

Haven't seen Olga since I left the Springs in 94 but I sure remember what a strong hiker she was.

Olga, I'll keep many memories of xc, hiking and laughing with you. Long weekends at the Pitkin Hotel were some of the best. Most of all I'll remember your goodness to our dear friend Bill. Hike on Olga, hike on.

Olga:
You were a strong hiker I admired so much, but couldn't keep up with. You will be missed.
