Shirley Gale Allen was born August 12, 1956 in Columbia, Mississippi, and passed on to Glory November 18, 2019. A small, but powerful and strong woman, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She fought lupus, kidney failure, and heart disease, all while being a full-time caregiver to her beloved husband, Jerry Allen, Sr. Shirley was a long-time Colorado Springs resident; she and her husband, Jerry Allen, Sr. (USAF Major, ret.) moved to Colorado Springs in 1987 and she has been a fixture in our community since then, known and beloved to many.
Shirley was preceded in death by her mother, Doretha Williams; sister, Jacklyn Quinn (Sam); and brother, Terry Williams. She leaves to forever cherish her memory and celebrate her life her beloved family, father, Johnny Williams; husband, Jerry Allen, Sr.; son, Jerry Allen, Jr.; grandson, Jordan Allen; brothers, Jerry Williams (Jan) and Lamont Williams (Lisa); sisters, Alisa Watts (Don), Tammy Alaman (Gregory), Margaret Williams, Angela Fortenberry (Greg - deceased), and Sharon Wilson; as well as a multitude of other grateful family and friends.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25, 2019 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Angelus Chapel located at 1104 S. Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, located at 617 E. Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903, followed by the Burial at Fairview Cemetery. Condolences can also be shared with the family by visiting www.angelusfuneraldirectors.com.
