Wilma "Jan" Anderson, a Colorado Springs resident for 60 years, passed away January 31, 2013. Jan was born on October 31, 1924 in Clarion, Iowa to Benjamin Holver Jacobson and Ethel Maude (State) Jacobson. She married Ray Jay Anderson on May 14, 1945 in Fairmont, Minnesota. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines Ladies Chorus. She enjoyed playing Bridge, taking trips to Cripple Creek, and rooting for the Rockies and the Broncos. She loved her family and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her children: Gloria Vice of Calhan, Colorado, Kent Anderson of San Luis, Colorado, Dennis (wife Annie) Anderson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her sister, Mildred Lewellyn of Clarion, Iowa; her sister-in-law, Phyllis Jacobson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997; a daughter, Cheryl Hardin; a son, Scott Anderson; a brother; a son-in-law; two daughters-in-law; and one grandson. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel. A reception will be held at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard. Memorials in Jan's name may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice.
