Ret. S/SGT Lonie Eddis Moore 86, of Security Co., passed away in Colorado Springs on 29 Dec 2018. Lonie was born on 5 May 1932 to Delbert A and Louise (Davis) Moore in Hilliard OH.
Lonie proudly served his country for 21 years with the U.S. Army and retired from Fort Carson, Co. in 1970. He is a veteran of the Korean War and served two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. He earned several medals, including the Bronze Star Medal, the Air Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Commendation Medal with 2nd Oak Leaf Cluster, the Good Conduct Medal with 4th knot, and several other service medals. He was a Career Counselor and also served on the U.S. Army Rifle Team, for which he earned many awards.
He was predeceased by his parents, Delbert A and Louise (Davis) Moore, 1 son, Lonie "Buddy" Eddis Moore Jr., 2 brothers, Robert and Dale Moore, 3 sisters, Violet J Peake, Dolly G Wells, Betty L Bartley, and 3 stepsons, Daniel, David and Delbert Mayer.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Constance Anne (Fairfax) Moore, 2 brothers, Kenny (Debbie) Moore of Richwood OH, Larry (Penny) Moore of London OH and 5 children, Roxeanna L Zaborac of Palmer AK; Deborah L (Delbert) Darst of Phoenix AZ; Laura L Moore of Mount Vernon, OH, Delbert L Moore of Marengo, OH and Deanna L (Kelly) McWilliams of Rogersville, MO; 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
