Sterling M. Campbell, died at home in Woodland Park on March 4, 2018. Campbell lived a good and varied life and was a bom again Christian having accepted Christ as Savior and Lord while a member of First Presbyterian Church, Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1960. His sixteen years there began in 1973 when he was appointed to the newly created post of Assistant to the City-Manager for Public Affairs. First daughter Kimberly was born there prior to a move to Flint, MI where his broadcasting career was renewed. Scott Campbell was born in Flint and when he was a year old the family finally settled in Colorado Springs in 1959 where Kristyn, Joel, and James were born.

Sterling loved Jesus, loved his wife Anne, loved his children, and loved his neighbor - he loved just the way Jesus taught us to love. We both worked for the City of Colorado Springs and sometimes carpooled before carpooling was "in." He was a great guy and a man of good character. I will miss him, and he will be missed by hundreds and hundreds of people. However, there is no doubt in my mind that he's really, really happy because he's with Jesus, his very lovely wife, and all his other Christian relatives and friends who have also passed. My most sincere sympathy goes to his loved ones.

I want to say a few things about Sterling Campbell. First, he was a man of God. Wise in counsel and always loving. Once you were in his heart, you were in his heart forever. Sterling was forgiving, gracious and had a heart of gold. His sense of humor was beyond compare. I can still hear his joyful, bold laugh. I will never forget it. I loved him very much and he will be greatly missed. Until we meet again in heaven, my dear friend. Peace and comfort to the Campbell family. You all are in my prayers.

So sorry to hear about Sterling. I worked with him for many years at Colorado Springs Utilities. He had a great smile and upbeat personality and was always a pleasure to be around. He will be missed but rejoicing that he is with Jesus and Anne for eternity. Prayers for the family as they go through this difficult time.
