Pedro R. Gonzalez, 77, of Colorado Springs, CO. went home to be with God at 1:30PM on December 31, 2018. Pedro was born on August 1, 1941 in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and was the eldest child of parents Benjamin Gonzalez and Maria Reyes. In 1959, Pedro joined the United States Army and proudly served as a MEDEVAC Helicopter Crew Chief in Vietnam and completed his career as an infantryman until 1984 when he retired, at Fort Carson, as a First Sergeant. Pedro joined the Knights of Columbus in 1988 and served as the Charter Deputy Grand Knight and later as Grand Knight for Council 14785, and was a Charter member of the St. Benedict Catholic Parish in Falcon, CO.
Pedro and his loving wife, Linda Marie Lewellen, were married on October 26, 1985 at Sacred Heart Church in Colorado Springs, CO. Pedro and Linda became a blended family with 15 children ranging in ages from 9 months - 17 years old. While raising his family, Pedro worked as a Senior Case Manager for ComCor, Inc., and attended college courses, receiving his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. Pedro was the first and only child to complete and receive a college education. Pedro retired for a second time in 2014 from El Paso County, as a social worker.
Pedro was a light hearted, kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. No one was ever a stranger and he was always willing to lend a hand. He dedicated his life to helping others through charitable tournaments and events. Pedro touched and blessed many lives through the years.
Pedro joins his parents Benjamin Gonzalez and Maria Reyes, his brother, Frank Gonzalez, and his daughter, Savina Gonzalez. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Linda Gonzalez, his sisters, Mary, Susan and Sylvia, his brothers Alonzo, Juan, Ricky, Robert, Ben, Joseph and Paul, his children, Peter, Mary Helen, Dennis, Pete, Cinda, Sonya, Darrell, Todd, David, Mitchel, Jennifer, Miguel, Doug, Brian and Kristina. He has been blessed with 43 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great- grandchildren.
Mass will be held January 15, 2019, 10:00AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church located at 6455 Brook Park Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80918. Reception to follow. Graveside services will follow at 2:00PM at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80925.

Rest In Peace Pedro. Linda & family May the hood memories sustain during this difficult time. We knew Pedro from our Lady of the Pines days & Knights of Columbus. Gone to eternal rest, he will be missed. He was a great guy
