Gerald "Jerry" Dean Groth
1927 - 2018
Gerald (Jerry) Dean Groth was born September 27, 1927 the third child of Charles Lewis Groth and Iva Fern (Smith) Groth in Rocky Ford, Colorado. He died January 2, 2018 at the age of 90 as a result of Pneumonia. Jerry was proceeded in death by his parents and four siblings, Charles Junior, Lawrence Kay, Richard Byron and Bonnie Lee Panneton. Survivors are; Ivy Lynn Honnen; sons, Steven Charles, Larry Wayne and James Authur; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. He served in the Army Specialized Training Reserve Program and the United States Navy with an honorable discharge from both these services. Jerry attended school in Rocky Ford, La Junta, Colorado Springs and the Univ of Colo at Denver.
He was a member of the Masonic Fraternity including Century Lodge No 190 in Greeley, Colo. Order of the Amaranth, Order of the Eastern Star and the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. He had the honor of serving as Master of Eaton Lodge 109 in Eaton, Colo and as Grand Royal Patron of the Grand Court, Order of the Amaranth. (1989-1990). Now a member of Manitou Lodge 68, AF and AM, Ruxton Chapter No, 10, O.E.S and Pikes Peak Court No. 20 O.O.A.
He also was a member of the Colorado Association of Parliamentarians and enjoyed the study of Parliamentary Procedure. Most of his working life was spent as a sales representative in the Allied Trades of the Baking Industry.
Jerry enjoyed life and many different activities other than those mentioned above. Mostly, he enjoyed the love and companionship of family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Home on January 13, 2018 at 11 am. Funeral Service will begin at 1 pm.

I met Gerald through the Order of the Amaranth. He was a true gentleman in all aspects of the word. He will be missed. My sympathy, thoughts and prayers to the family.
