Jack L. Smart, age 85, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017. He had been a resident of Colorado Springs since 1971.
Jack was born October 5, 1932 to Jesse and Louise (Shields) Smart in Tooele, Utah. On September 27, 1952 he married the love of his life, Georgiana Jean (Price) in Ely, Nevada.
Jack loved to read and listen to classical music. He enjoyed going to The NHRA drag races and NASCAR races. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a contracting officer at Fort Carson, and served 4 years active duty Army and 20 years in the Army Reserves.
He is survived by his 2 daughters: Kristine West (spouse David West) and Kathy Harder (spouse Orville Harder). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Steven West (spouse Shannon), Steven Harder (spouse Whitney), Katie West, Jackie Hale, Jesse Hale, and Melissa West; 6 great grandchildren: Stephanie, Casey, Kyle, Lyla, Aaliyah and Layla; a brother-in-law, Charles Eugene (spouse Jenny) Price Jr. of Salt Lake City; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgiana; son, Steven Smart; grandson, Timothy West; and granddaughter, Shawna West.
A service will be held from 2-3pm on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel. Entombment will be held after the service at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum.
