JAMES "JD" DENNIS, JR

James 'JD' Dennis, Jr., 82, long time resident of Colorado Springs, passed away on September 25, 2018. James was born January 5, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to James Dennis, Sr. and Gladys Oden.
James was retired from the United States Air Force. He received the Presidential Commendation for fifty years of service to his country. James earned an A.S. degree in Criminal Justice from Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs. He was an avid bowler, and bowled on numerous leagues in Colorado Springs. He was a lifelong jazz buff but his favorite composition of music was, On The Trail, from Grand Canyon Suite.
James is survived by his loving life partner of 40 years, Geneva Perez of Colorado Springs; sister, Deanna Simpson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; son, Alex Dennis of Ft. Washington, Maryland; daughter, Kim Dennis of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and three grandchildren.
In honoring James's request, there will not be any services. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to: The Wounded Warrior Project.

With heavy hearts we express our profound sadness for your loss Geneva. JD was an outstanding bowler, a tough opponent, and a great mentor. Overall he was a wonderful colleague and friend. We will surely miss him so much. Keep smiling and rolling them strikes up there JD.
