Barbara Kay (Culpepper) Hill
Barbara "Kay" (Culpepper) Hill went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2017, surrounded by her family in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at the age of 76.
Kay is survived by her husband, Dr. Louis Hill; children, Mike Hill and Kim DeGraaf; siblings, Ronnie and Gene Culpepper; four grandchildren, Jen, Jordan, Ashton, and Logan; and one great-grandson, Dominic. She is preceded in passing by her parents, Joseph and Ruth Culpepper.
Kay was born on May 23, 1941 in Columbus, Georgia. She was known for her good nature, good looks, and good grades, and graduated from Jordan Vocational High School as the first female senior class president in 1959, and then from Columbus College with a BS in Elementary Education in 1971.
In 1961, she married Louis, her high school sweetheart; dating since she was fourteen, this year marked 62 years together and their 56th wedding anniversary. She was an elementary school teacher before they had their two children, Mike and Kim, and then she was a stay-at-home mom. They joined The Navigators in 1972, and then started Reformed Discipleship Ministries in 1995.
They were a team, sharing God's love and lessons on parenting, marriages, and disciple-making through one-on-one, groups, seminars, and conferences. As a wife, mother, and homemaker, Kay sought to live her life by Titus 2:3-5, and she passionately believed in the power of prayer. Her happy spirit, kind heart, smiling eyes, praying knees, and southern charm touched so many lives.
All are welcome to join us at 2:00 pm on November 11th, 2017 at Village Seven Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs for a Memorial Service to celebrate the life and ministry of Kay Hill and to hear and share stories and testimonies remembering a life lived loving Jesus. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Kindred Hospice, 5755 Mark Dabling Blvd #108, Colorado Springs, CO 80918, or Reformed Discipleship Ministries, PO Box 7168, Colorado Springs, CO 80918. Kay was one of the sweetest and kindest souls I have had the privilege of knowing. She truly cared for others and her heart loved the Lord and His flock.
She was a blessing to all that knew her. My heart and prayers are with her family.

Louis and Kay Hill gave our family the example of a Christ-like marriage that we so greatly needed. They were like grandparents to our children and parents to us. They poured their lives into us and hundreds of others, and their children selflessly shared Louis and Kay with the family of God. Our hearts ache with Louis and his family, but praise God we do not grieve as those who have no hope. Louis, we love you all and will continue to lift you all before the throne of grace.

Kay and Louis have made an impact over many by their influence. I was reserved socially at the time that we knew one another, but will be eternally grateful for their example as a fellow student and bandperson. Our love and prayers are with you Louis and family for renewed strength.

Kay was one of the nicest classmates at Jordan. As were Louis and Ronnie.

She was the consummate southern lady. Classy, godly, warm and so smart. I remember Louis saying that Kay graduated from college "summa cum laude" and that he graduated "thank the lawdy"! It's not an overstatement to say that the impact Louis and Kay had together was/is global and that there are countless marriages (including mine and my children) that have been invested in for the glory of God. We too are praying for each of you-for health/healing, rest, time to reflect, and purpose for the days ahead...

I remember great time with Kay and Louis, at Eastern Heights Baptist Church.
I also know my salvation became real and constant with my involvement with the Navigators..
