Bill Gibson, 80, died Saturday, February 10, 2018 at a local hospital following a long illness. He was retired from the U.S Air Force and Postal Service.
William McAmis Gibson was born July 14, 1937 in Johnson City, Tennessee to the late Kelly and Margaret (McAmis) Gibson. He spent is childhood in Johnson City.
He married Winnie Kathryn Cochran, November 24, 1955 in Oak Hill, Florida.
Bill joined the U.S Air Force, served his country in Vietnam, Morocco, Japan, Germany, and stateside in New Mexico, Florida and Colorado. He retired in 1978. Bill was also a letter carrier with the U.S Postal Service for twenty years before retiring in 2001.
He will be best remembered for his love of the outdoors, working on his yard, barbeques, and spending precious time with his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Shirley, Helen and Kelly Jr.; son, Billy Gibson Jr.; grandson, Joshua; and two great-grandsons, Odin and Oryen.
MSgt. Gibson is survived by his wife, Kitty Gibson; daughters, Dani Brewer and Tonya "Yvette" Gibson; grandchildren, Danette, Dalyne, Jacob, Kaly, and little Billy; great grandchildren, Promyse, Sheahona, Amadee, Ayven, Zenovia, Rachael, Shea, Seana, Jayden, Irelyn, Roslyn, Tanner and Arya.

No one will ever know how much my great grandpa meant to me. He was the best grandfather anyone could ever ask for and I know he loved us with all he had. I love you papa and miss you every day.
