Emma Elizabeth Cook, 68, departed this life on March 15th, 2020. She was born on October 6, 1951 to the union of Shelby and Gennie Yates in Sunflower, Mississippi.
She attended Morgan Memorial Chapel Church of God in Christ. Emma lived in Colorado Springs 48 years, other places she resided was in Okinawa, Japan, Germany, (Kitzegen, Darmstadt, Manheim), Virginia, (Fort Belvoir, Fort Lee) and Fort Carson, Colorado.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Shelby and Gennie Yates; her daughter, Marilyn Cook; four sisters, Frances Small, Mozella Williams, Geneva Shields and Sarah Yates; and two brothers, John and Harold Yates.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Ray J. Cook; five sons, James Yates, Ray Cook Jr, Marlo Cook, Sean Cook and Kevin Cook; three brothers, Shelby Yates, George Yates and Tyrone Yates; sister, Darlene Higgs; Chris Yates, her grandchildren, uncle, aunts and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Private viewing will be held on Sunday, March 22nd, 2020 at 4:00 P.M. Funeral will be held on Monday, March 23rd, 2020 from 9:00 - 11:00 A.M. at Angelus Chapel located at 1104 S. Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80910, followed by her Burial at Pikes Peak National Cemetery at 2:00 P.M.
