Eric James Norris
1983 - 2018
Eric James Norris, January 11, 1983-January 28, 2018, son of Sherry and Glenn Butcher and Jay Norris, brother of Shandra Hoyle and Matthew Butcher, uncle to Logan, Elizabeth and Katelynn Hoyle, friend to all.
For nearly sixteen years Eric fought the battles of traumatic brain injury and taught us about tenacity and perseverance. He walked again, when we were told he would not, he talked when we were told that wasn't possible, and he loved unconditionally, a trademark of his personality. He was our hero and role model.
He fought to learn to read the books he loved again. He fought to regain some of his ability to write poetry. He embraced the pursuit of joy and taught us to look for that joy, even when it was sometimes elusive.
2 Timothy 4:7 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Indeed Eric did.
A Celebration of Eric's life will be held Saturday, February 3rd, 2018 -1:00 p.m. at Sunrise Methodist Church, 2655 Briargate Boulevard, Colorado Springs.
