Joann Blanche Blanch
January 27, 1934 - December 16, 2017
Joann Blanche Blanch was born on January 27, 1934 to Oscar and Hettie Nelson in Portland, Oregon. She died on December 16, 2017 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Joann spent her childhood in Portland, Oregon and Spokane, Washington. She came to faith in Jesus Christ in her teen years and dedicated her life unwaveringly to helping others find the same life-transforming relationship.
After attending Multnomah School of the Bible, Joann worked fruitfully with the Navigators in Colorado and California, where she met Jack Blanch. They were married in 1962 and immediately went to Germany, followed by England and Spain, where they lived with their three children and labored until 1987. They then relocated to California and were part of the Navigator Hispanic Ministry leadership team. In 2007 they moved to Colorado Springs.
Joann faced life with a gentle but high-spirited boldness and a contagious faith. She loved her family, music, and the arts. Her cheerful, valiant, and loyal life shone God's love brightly into the lives of many others. In the last part of her life, Joann battled with Parkinson's Disease.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, John "Jack" Edward Blanch; a son, Daniel W. (Andrea) Blanch; two daughters, Linda Carol Blanch and Sharon June (Torry) Ebell; a brother, Lawrence A. Nelson; and five grandchildren, Karen S. Blanch, Katrina M. Blanch, Lara C. Ebell, Ivan D. Ebell and Alan M. Blanch.
Memorial Service, 11:00AM, Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Glen Eyrie Great Hall, 3820 North 30th Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80904.
