Margaret Ann Smith's favorite hymn was, "I'll Fly Away", and this she did on November 20, 2018.
Margaret was born on December 3rd, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to Herbert and Florence Kropp. As a tiny 3-pound newborn she was raised and later adopted by her loving aunt and uncle, Ethel and Edwin Anderson. Margaret Ann Anderson's happy childhood years were spent in Antioch, Illinois. She graduated high School in 1948 and enlisted in the United States Air Force in December of 1949.
While in the Air Force, Marge met and married James Robert Smith. They wed on June 23rd, 1951 and enjoyed 51 years of marriage. They welcomed three children to this union. Sharon Johnson, Mark Smith and Susan Follis.
Margaret is survived by her three devoted children and their families. There are nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly. Margaret leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Robert Smith and her parents and two sisters.
Her memorial service is at 10 a.m., December 6th at the Pikes Peak church of Christ. Graveside services will be at Fort Logan Military Cemetery in Denver; alongside her husband, James Robert Smith.
