Mary Rodeman Obituary

Rodeman
MARY RODEMAN
December 24, 1931 February 15, 2021
Mary Rodeman was born December 24th, 1931, in Laramie, Wyoming, as the youngest of six children. Although she claimed to be shy, she was rough and tough and took no guff from anyone. She became an army wife at the age of 18, taking her and her family across this great nation and Germany.
Her love and awe of the mountains brought her to Colorado Springs, where she resided in her beloved home for over 40 years. Mary loved to hike, bike, camp, fish, and revel in the nature that inspired her. She was an avid reader who enjoyed mysteries and learning anything from history to cooking to politics, the latter keeping her actively involved in her community.
Mary never lost her appetite for travel. Although not quite fulfilling her youthful dream of traveling the United States by motorcycle, she was thrilled to have experienced many unique places, New Zealand, Scandinavia, and Holland being some of her favorites. She was a loyal friend who loved her family and neighbors dearly. Her never-ending spunk and dry wit was a delight to all those who met her.
Mary passed peacefully on February 15th, 2021. She recently celebrated her 89th birthday on Christmas Eve 2020 and was surprised at her longevity. Mary will be missed as a mother, grandmother, and dear friend. She is survived by her loving daughter, Cherri, and her adoring grandchildren, Parker and Jennifer. A celebration of life is planned in the warmer month of June.
