Deeply loved by an ever-growing community of family and friends, our heavy hearts grieve the passing of Matthew. He was passionate about finding and sharing every little bit of beauty that life presented, especially with the arrival of his son Gabriel. There was not a book he could resist, and his hunger for knowledge influenced his passions for music, creating and collaborating art, and the relationships he built with those around him. He was kind and overwhelmingly devoted to the well-being of the ones he loved. Matthew, a Colorado native, attended Steele, Stratton, North, and Palmer, establishing many endearing friendships throughout. From there he travelled to Boulder to study art at CU, and to Ft Collins to live with his siblings before returning to his hometown. Matthew is preceded in death by his brother Taylor. He is survived by his son Gabriel, his partner Leisl Shaffer, his sister Kelsey, and parents Barry and Susan.
