Phyllis C, Ross, 65, passed away on August 9th in Georgetown, TX after a long fight with cancer. Phyllis grew up in Texas and lived in Europe, Pueblo and Colorado Springs, CO.
Phyllis worked at Minnequa and Power credit unions in Pueblo and for Walmart in Colorado Springs.
Phyllis will always be remembered for her humorous nature, laughter, spontaneous fun and love for her family. She enjoyed attending her children's extramural sporting events and sharing in their entertainment activities. She was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan even while living in Colorado. She enjoyed being outdoors: swimming, water skiing, listening to ocean breezes, fishing and camping. She really enjoyed preparing meals with her family and friends and teaching her grandchildren how to cook.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Lawrence Hays, her brother, Larry, sister, Mary Ann and her two children. She is survived by sisters, Tara Reed and Patricia Dietz many nieces and nephews in Texas, her son, Johnnie H. Becerra Jr (Annette), of Pueblo, CO, and her daughter, Amanda R Gifford (Sergei) of Fort Hood, TX. Her greatest joy in life was being with her five grandchildren: Erica M. Jacobs (TJ), Johnnie L. Becerra, Jacob C. Cole and Madison R. Cole, all from Pueblo, CO, Daniel M. Gifford at Fort Hood, TX and great grandchildren Avery J. Jacobs, and Collette L. Jacobs.
A celebration of her life will take place from noon until 2:00 pm on August 25th at Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas.
