Richard Claude Milward
September 16, 1941 - November 25, 2017
Richard died peacefully surrounded by loved ones and listening to his favorite country music songs after his battle with cancer. Born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, he graduated with a degree in Industrial Arts from Wisconsin State University in 1965.
His life was spent teaching and coaching, both in Colorado and in Idaho. His passion for team sports - swimming, baseball, and hockey - inspired hundreds of students throughout the years. He always offered encouragement to his charges - and the occasional kick-in-the-rear when needed.
Richard also developed a passion for river rafting, guiding tourists down the Middle Fork and the Main Fork of the Salmon River in Idaho. His guests loved his ability to weave a tale, and he could use a Dutch oven like no other.
Overall, his infectious personality made him a friend to all - especially to the lovely ladies with whom he loved to dance.
Richard is preceded in death by his sister Kay. He is survived by a brother, Ron, a sister, Sharon, a son, Shane, and many other family members and loved ones.
No memorial services are scheduled. Richard simply asked that those who knew him simply go to a rushing river, raise a cold one, and think of him dancing in the heavens.
