Bob Lewis, age 83 of Fountain, CO passed away on November 27th 2018. He was born November 6, 1935 in Bedford, Indiana to Donald and Rosemary Lewis, both deceased. His death was preceded by his wife of 61 years, Gerda Lewis, on September 17, 2017. He is survived by seven children: Patricia, Linda, Michael, Sandra, Karen, Mark and Robert. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Bob joined the army at age 17 and began his career at Camp Gordon, GA as an E1 and ended his career as an E9 - Command Sergeant Major. Bob was CSM for Fort Carson when he was selected to serve beyond 30 years. During his last assignment to 5th U.S. Corps in Frankfurt he was nominated for Sergeant Major of the Army. Some of his awards were the Silver Star, 2 Bronze stars with Valor, 3 Purple Hearts, the CIB, Vietnamese Cross for Gallantry, Legion of Merit and Meritorious Service Medal.
Funeral services will be held at Dove-Witt Funeral Home at 1:00pm on Friday, December 7, 2018.
