ROBERT MILTON CHEESMAN
December 30, 1934 December 23, 2020
Robert M. Cheesman, Age 85, passed away at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado on December 23, 2020. Robert was born December 30, 1934 in El Paso County, Colorado to Milton Clifford Cheesman and Hazel Vae (Achord) Cheesman.
After graduating from Colorado Springs High School, Robert joined the United States Airforce and taught survival skills to the airmen. After his honorable discharge, he attended college studying law and economics. Throughout his adult life he chose to seek whatever work appealed to him at the time - the list includes working in the Wyoming coal mines, business owner, and working in the bakery at King Soopers.
Robert was interested in current events and always enjoyed having a discussion with whoever may drop by. He was a thoughtful, intelligent man who lived a solitary life enjoying the company of his two dogs. As a lifelong bachelor, his family meant a great deal to Robert. He was dearly loved and will be missed by both family and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Rachel Lyda; brother Samuel Cheesman; and nephews, Tim Lyda and Allen Cheesman; sister-in-law Phyllis Cheesman; and brother-in-law, Derril Howell. He is survived by his sister Rose Howell, many nieces and nephews and their families.
"God never sees His children die; He simply sees them coming home."
There will be a private family service at a later date at Grace Episcopal Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Grace Episcopal Church, 4101 S. Hazel Street, Pine Bluff, Ark. 71603; or the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, 610 Abbot Lane, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80905
