ROLAND PETER "PETE" BUIST

Roland Peter "Pete" Buist, a 42-year resident of Colorado Springs, passed away January 14, 2019. He was retired from the United States Air Force after serving for 26 years and was also a United States Navy veteran. He worked as a finance manager with BankOne and was a loan officer for five years with Phil Long Ford.
Pete was born on October 8, 1931 to Peter and Esther Leone (VanderWiere) Buist in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was a 1949 graduate of Big Rapids High School. He married Patricia Wale on September 8, 1956 in Garlinge, Kent, England.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Buist; two sons, Mark (Beth) Buist and Craig (Angie) Buist; daughter, Jana Buist; granddaughter, Ashleigh Buist; and two brothers, Lester Buist and David (Ruth) Buist; he was preceded in death by three brothers: Kenneth, Maurice, and Jess (Karin) Buist.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910. A reception will follow at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 S. Union Blvd.
Memorials in Pete's name may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or to the American Cancer Society.

I will truly miss Pete. The guidance, encouragment and mentorship he so willingly gave, helped me greatly while serving on the Board of Directors at TREA. Rest Easy Shipmate, We have the Watch.

Mr. Buist, was such a great neighbor and a kind man. My family and I feel very honored to have had him and his family as our neighbors. I am sad to hear about his passing and wish his family happiness and peace during this difficult time.
