As a young man in the 70s preparing for my academic career as a professor, I enjoyed my hobby as a DJ. I was never a radio-type DJ. I enjoyed playing music that people would love to dance to and have fun. During a 50-year anniversary event, I shared my DJ equipment with a popular Pittsburgh KQV radio personality named "Jeff Christy". Jeff made this event a tremendous success and I enjoyed the teamwork. Jeff's last comments to me were "You need a better microphone!"
Several years later as an avid listener of Rush Limbaugh, I was slightly amazed when Rush shared his memories as Jeff Christy - a radio disk jockey. Perhaps, this is what I loved most about Rush. On those days when ever I was stressed, sad or uncertain, I was glad to listen to Rush/Jeff's voice, humor and wisdom, that made me laugh. Rush never ceased being a entertainer, even as I counted and enjoyed each and every one of his last days.
I have also been grateful for my personal God's loaned talents. As an educator and researcher my goal has always been to Change Students Lives. Thank you God for your gift "Rush Limbaugh", who has Changed Listener Lives. My condolences to the Limbaugh family and colleagues.
