Shirley Ann Rudy
Shirley Ann Rudy departed peacefully into eternal joy and love Sunday, October 29, 2017. She leaves behind a family that surrounded her with love at the time of her passing: William Rudy, her husband of 57 years; son, Timothy Rudy, daughters, Lisbeth (Sean) Kinney and Kathleen (Brian) Hubel; stepchildren, Rex (Val) Rudy, Kelly (Catalina) Rudy, and Kristi Rudy, whom she loved as her own; and the jewels of her eyes, grandchildren Sam and Margaret Rudy, Evan and Shea Kinney, and Oliver and Zoe Hubel.
Shirley was the second of six children born to Raymond T. and Ann Victoria Murphy of Farmington, Minnesota. Upon graduating from nursing school in Minneapolis, MN, she practiced there and Chicago before moving to Albuquerque, NM, where she met Bill. They married October 1, 1960, and then moved to Colorado Springs in 1962.
She became a homemaker and busy mother of three, and was an avid volunteer with the Assistance League of Colorado Springs. Shirley loved a good game of bridge or scrabble, the challenge of crosswords and puzzles, and brought a witty humor to every table. She loved camping in the Colorado mountains - Twin Lakes and Turquois Lake, especially, and long, scenic road trips with the fifthwheeler. She was most at home with Bill or poolside at their"Arizona Playhouse" during the winter months in Mesa, AZ, as well as during holidays with the entire family. She was most at peace while walking, at the Rock Ledge Ranch or in the Garden of the Gods.
Her parents, sisters Ruth and Mary, and her brother, Jim, precede her in death. She leaves behind her husband, children and grandchildren, sisters, Claire Jorgensen and Jane Woods of Albuquerque, NM, her niece, Betsy Wade, and great nieces Anne and Leah Wade of Colorado Springs, along with many other nieces, nephews, and friends.

Praying for peace and comfort, for Bill and family. Lots of warm memories of my visits to 1118 Whitehouse Dr. I loved hearing Shirley's stories of "the olden days", when the sisters were young; walking in Garden of the Gods, or another trail. And I always had fun playing Yahtzee. May she rest in peace.
