Beloved Father, Grandfather and Brother passed away peacefully on April 14th in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born in Buckeye, Ohio on October 7th 1948.
Steve was a United States Marine and served in the Vietnam War. Earning such Awards and Honors as the National Defense Medal, A Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Navy Unit Commendation and Cross of Gallantry, he participated in operations against Communist forces at Don Ha.
When the war was over he fulfilled his lifelong dreams of owning his own businesses, having many adventures in the world and having a large family. Steve enjoyed a full life including many outdoor activities such as diving, fishing, RV-ing , motorcycle riding, horseback riding and spending time with his family.
Steve Theodore Mottern leaves behind: Three children, Steve J. Mottern, Jennifer S. Mottern and Jeromy R. Mottern; Siblings, Albert Allberry of FL, Debbie Dixon of FL, and Patricia Leach of OH; Cherished Grandchildren, Dustin Mottern, Daimen Lace, Steven Carver, Devan Lace, Maddison Mottern, Alexis Mottern, Jacob Mottern, Megan Mottern and Declan Mottern; Five Great Grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A committal service will take place on Wednesday, April 28th 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Pikes Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs.
