Senior Master SGT. Ted "Pete" A. Petersen

Ted A. Petersen beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed peacefully into eternal rest December 22, 2017 at the age of 78. He was born in Los Angeles, California to the late Arthur and Nora (Mortensen) Petersen. He graduated from high school in 1957. There he met the love of his life, and they were married April 19, 1961. They were married for 56 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lugene (Lu); his sons, Walter (Kara) Petersen, and Steven (Angela) Petersen; his brother, Robert Petersen; eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He served his country in the United States Air Force for 26 years. Most of his career was spent as a cryptologic linguist - crew member on RC-135's. He was stationed in Alaska, Turkey, Monterey California, Germany, England, and Nebraska. While in England, he was one of two "Yanks" to be trained to referee "Association Football" (soccer). He supported his sons in scouts and sports.
In retirement he was an NCOA counselor and an independent insurance agent. Ted was dedicated to caring for his family and was a private person. He enjoyed watching football, soccer, and NASCAR.

Private services will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
