Ava Rose Wolfe "Blondie" died September 12th, 2012, in Colorado Springs, after a long hard battle with a congenital heart defect. Ava was born on March 12, 2006 in Watertown, NY to parents, Jeff and Kristy Wolfe. Ava is survived by her parents, brothers, Logan and Carson, Grandfathers Kenneth Lane, Morris Jeffrey Wolfe and Bob Martin, and Grandmother Lana Martin. Ava is preceded in death by Grandmothers Sandy Lane and Denis Wolfe. Ava had several major open-heart surgeries and always had a smile on her face. She was a beautiful "energetic" young girl that was always ready for the next challenge. She was loved by everyone that met her. Ava loved Tinkerbell and Hello Kitty. She always tried hard in school. Ava attended Patriot Elementary, Venetucci Elementary Schools and Pikes Peak Christian Church. Ava was the light of her mother and father's world! We will always love you baby. You will never need another surgery. Visitation will be at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S Hwy 85, Fountain, Colorado Thursday, September 20th from 5:00 to 7:00. Funeral services will be at Pikes Peak Christian Church, 4955 Bradley Rd, Colorado Springs Friday, September 21st 2012 at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to www.gofundme.com/send-ava-to-disney. All donations go to congenital heart research.

I love this girl even without having met her. My boys would have adored her, especially my oldest with whom she would have had a lot in common. Ava, I love hearing stories about you and seeing your pictures. You are remembered and loved always.

It's been a year since you went back home. Nanie's birthday will never be remembered the same way. With each passing year it will just be a small step closer till I can see you again. But then we will have all of eternity to make up for all the time we lost. Till then, I will just have to keep you in my heart! Love Nanie

We, too, lost a little girl, so I absolutely know the horrendous pain you're going through. I loved when you told her "no more surgeries." She was blessed to have parents such as you. And I do fully believe she is in God's loving hands right now, and He will take special care of her until you someday join her.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

I cared for Ava while she was a PK student at Weikel Elementary, and she was a precious little girl. I recall her trip to the zoo at the end of the year, and her delight and bright smiles while there! She will aways have a special place in my heart, and please know that she is whole and healthy, smiling and laughing as she walks with our Lord & Savior. I am holding you and your family in my prayers during this time of grief. BB
