I just learned of Dr. Kay's passing today, June 30 2025. I don't know why I thought of him today but I did. Dr. Kay was my undergrad Math advisor at UNC-A (class of '84). It. I too did my graduate work any Michigan State University, except in Physics. He was always a decent human being and a good mentor. I wish I had the opportunity to chat in his retirement but distances were never favorable in til the last 10 years. We were both here in Buncombe County, as I too am retired, and didn't know it . I pray the peace of Jesus for all his family and friends. My condolences. He is with the Greatest Geometer and for that I am at peace.
