Herbert Alfred Pluemer

Herbert Alfred Pluemer was born in Potosi, Wisconsin on May 5, 1942, to Bernadine and Leonard Pluemer. He passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025.

Herb began his adventure growing up on the family farm in Wisconsin. He was always taking things apart and putting them back together. He kept his parents on their toes with his mischievous pranks. He graduated from high school from Campion Jesuit High School. His next adventure was a summer job that took him out to New Mexico where he met the love of his life, married her, and had three children of which he was extremely proud. He went through the apprentice program at Sandia National Laboratories and graduated a year early and then began his first of many businesses, Accurate Machine and Tool. Herb had a passion for building things and could fix anything which made his business very successful. He loved helping people and sharing his knowledge. His friends and family have incredible respect for him and his unselfish generosity.

Herb had a passion for many things. Skiing, scuba diving, hunting, fishing, farming, tractors, and beer. These passions took him all over the world including the Great Barrier Reef and Africa. He made sure that he shared his adventures with his family and took them with him whenever he could.

Those who knew Herb will remember his passion for life, work, and willingness to help anyone in need. He had an infectious smile which lit up his eyes and incredible dedication to his family and friends. He was an incredible husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Herb is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Pluemer; son, Gregory Pluemer; daughter, Louanne Gallegos and husband, Robert; son, Steven Pluemer and wife, Claudia; grandchildren, Samantha and husband, Joseph, Leia, Matthew and wife, Veronica, Taylor, Sean, Brendan, Miranda, Nikki, and Audrey; great grandchildren, Lyra and baby Cunico; his sisters, Margaret Dastur and Alice Kay; his brother, Steve Pluemer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Bernadine; and his brothers, Larry, John, and Mike.

The Celebration of Life to honor the life of Herbert Pluemer will be held on March 22, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Ribs in Los Lunas 120 Nelson Lane, Los Lunas, NM 87031.
