Nellie Gatlin Obituary

Nellie Rhee Brown Gatlin transitioned into eternity on June 12, 2025, in Decatur, Texas.

Born November 1st, 1935, in Randolph, Co. Ga. to the late Albert Sidney Brown and Garner Rebecca Turner Brown, she was the sister of the late Dorothy Grace Brown, Sidney Jack Brown, and William Lynwood Brown.

She was married to the late Albert Leo Gatlin for 27 years with both being active in the Ladies of Nasah and The Albany Shrine Club respectively.

Employed with the U.S. government from Jan 1955 until her final assignment at Albany's MCLB, she retired in 1990 and moved to Clayton, Ga.

Survivors include her daughter Sandra Gatlin Morris of Chico, Tx., and her son Allen Scott Gatlin (Marcia) of Leesburg, Ga. Grandchildren include Richard Lee Morris, Jr. of Waxahachie, Tx., Amanda Elizabeth Gatlin Kelley (Brian) of Panama City, Fla., Rebecca Brooke Gatlin Wilkes (Simon) of Leesburg Ga., and four great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Kimbrell Stern Funeral Home, 1503 Dawson Rd. Albany, Ga. on Saturday July 12th, 2025. Visitation will take place from 9-11 a.m. with a brief service at 11 a.m. Interment will be a private family service.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorials be made to her favorite nonprofit, F.A.I.T.H. (faith-inc.org) 94 N Main St. Clayton, Ga. 30525.
