Guy was an amazing leader and a gentle soul - two traits that are rare to find together but powerful when combined. I had the privilege to work with Guy when I was at the Michigan Environmental Justice Coalition, which DWEJ provided key support as it was starting up. I am grateful to have known and learned from Guy and he will be deeply missed. Sharing my condolences to his family and friends, may his memory be a blessing.

Like someone already said, Guy had a way of making you feel better no matter what you were talking about. We worked through some tough issues while he was at DWEJ and it was always a pleasure. He had a huge heart and an even bigger heart. He accomplished what we should all try to do, and that is to leave the world a better place.

We are heartbroken for Susan and his family. I met Guy 20 years ago while waiting for a plane at BWI, and I´ll never forget what a genuinely kind, fun, and outgoing man he was. His smile and presence could light up an entire room. The warmth, joy, and love for life that he radiated will be deeply missed.
Our condolences to all who loved him.

My condolences and prayers for Guy and all his family. It was an honor to work with him and learn from him while together at the National Wildlife Federation. A true leader for environmental protection and justice.

Guy was a natural leader and colleague. His uplifting personality made working with him at Detroiters for Environmental Justice both fun and meaningful. He shared his knowledge and insights on the environmental justice movement with everyone. And, his smile was worth a million dollars.

The obituary beautifully captures why Guy was so special to so many. Generous of spirit, joyful and brimming with quiet wisdom, he brought people together to address injustices and lifted others up to be their best selves. Our careers and lives repeatedly intertwined over 34 years and my life is so much richer for the privilege. Everyday he gave a master class in how to carry oneself with purpose to better the world in ways big and small.

I had the good fortune of working with Guy in the conservation world - as volunteers at Legacy Land Conservancy and he invited me to his board at DWEJ. His love of people, his great joy, his deep love of the world - I liked him enormously and I am so very sorry he has left us.
May we be kinder, in his memory. May we all be working to make this world and our own communities better every day. He´d like that.

Guy was amazing at forging connections and he truly made the world a better place with his commitment to the environment and the people who live in it. He was a tremendous and effective advocate, and I was lucky to know and be able to work with him. We will all miss the joy in his smile and power of his convictions.

Susan, we are so sorry to hear about Guy's passing, we always enjoyed talking to him at HOA events. Brad loved talking High School football with him especially. He will be missed, our thoughts are with you and your family. Dara & Brad
