Thomas Joaquin Obituary
He began his adult life with a career in advertising but soon joined the family's farming operations, moving to Sutter County where he and former wife, Doris Joaquin, raised their three children.
Tom enjoyed golf, wonderful food, great wine, and dogs. He valued education and encouraged all of his children and grandchildren to pursue a college education.
He is survived by his sons, Jeff Joaquin (Jillian), of Carmichael, CA, John Joaquin (Kathleen), of New Smyrna Beach, FL; daughter, Lorrain Friant (Douglas), of Yuba City, CA; six grandchildren, Juliana, Alyssa, Camille, Paden, Cate and Gavin; as well as his long-time companion, Vera Moore.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Sr. and Muriel Joaquin, and his brother, Steven Joaquin.
Friends and family are invited to the graveside burial at Sutter Cemetery on February 28, 2026, at 10 AM, as well as a casual celebration of life at the Tap Room, 667 Plumas Street, Yuba City, CA, beginning at 11:30 AM after the burial.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a local agricultural charity or organization.

Known Tom since the early seventies. He leased land from our family farm, and we did custom work on his rice fields in Yuba and Sutter Counties. Enjoyed his company. He will be missed.
