JOHN THOMPSON Obituary

JOHN EARL THOMPSON SR. (1945-2025) John Earl Thompson, retired principal of Ardmore Middle School passed away July 1. Mr. Thompson was a lifelong educator as well as an Army Veteran. He taught science at Millwood High School in Oklahoma City and Graham High School before becoming an assistant principal at Ardmore Middle School. He later became the principal at AMS and served in that capacity for 30 years before retiring to play golf. He was married to Rayvon Thompson, also a lifelong resident of Ardmore as well as an educator. The Thompsons were married for over 50 years. Preceding Mr. Thompson in death is his wife, Rayvon; parents, Cleo Thompson and John A. Thompson; brothers, James Thompson and Calvin Thompson; sister, Cheryl Simmons; and granddaughter, Charista Thompson. Left behind to mourn his passing are his two sons, John Thompson II (Teresa) and Gregory Thompson (Britni); two brothers, John A. Thompson II (Charisse) and Kevin Thompson (Dockmay); sister, Yolanda Thompson; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church of Ardmore at 2 p.m. July 12.
