Bruce Jordan Bennett, age 75, of Roswell, GA, passed away Wednesday, June 4, while vacationing on Saint George Island in Florida.

Bruce was born to Douglas Bennett and Susie J. Bennett on March 20, 1950, in Columbia, SC. Bruce married his wife of 48 years, Leigh Brown Bennett in 1977. Bruce spent over 30 years working for the phone company and outlasted the transitions from Southern Bell to BellSouth and eventually to AT&T. The phone company brought Bruce and Leigh to Roswell, GA, where they raised their only daughter, Kelli.

Bruce retired young and enjoyed relaxing at home, playing golf, and visiting his second home "at the farm" in Sycamore, GA.

Bruce passed away from a cardiac event while with family at their favorite vacation spot, Saint George Island.

He is survived by his wife, Leigh Brown Bennett; daughter, Kelli Hadfield (Jamie Hadfield); grandchildren, Bennett and Madison Hadfield; his mother-in-law, Peggy Brown; brother, Douglas Bennett (Gail Bennett) of Franklin, TN; and his sister, Sally May (Glenn May) of McDonough, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law include, Zach and Carol Brown, and Barry and LaDonna Brown; nieces and nephews include, Cathy Claxton, Suzanne Fullerton, Rod May (Amy), Amanda Barnes (Kyle), Jason Brown, Matthew Brown, and Ryan Brown (Amanda). He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Susie Bennett; and his father-in-law Harold Brown.

A visitation will be held at 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 12:00, on June 10, at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, GA 30076. A graveside burial service will be held in Sycamore, GA, June 12.
